12 Jul Additional revenue in the millions for municipalities from solar parks
Press release – Heppenheim / Waghäusel, 05 July 2021
SOLCARE Energy GmbH and its partner PVESTATE GmbH expressly welcome the new participation opportunities for municipalities in the operation of ground-mounted photovoltaic systems created in the EEG amendment. The regulation passed by the Bundestag at the end of June now enables voluntary payments by plant operators to the siting municipalities within a legally secure framework.
For all planned solar park projects, SOLCARE Energy GmbH and its partner PVESTATE GmbH therefore offer the respective municipality a remuneration of 0.2 cents per kilowatt hour for the amount of electricity actually fed into the grid after the law comes into force.
For the planned solar park in Dannenwalde (www.solarpark-dannenwalde.de) with an expected size of about 50 hectares and a possible capacity of about 50 megawatts peak, the now permitted levy would mean additional revenue of about 100,000 euros per year. Calculated over a term of 25 years, this would mean additional revenue of around 2.5 million euros for the municipality of Gumtow.
We are pleased to be able to provide long-term financial support to municipalities and thus contribute to the implementation of desired projects or the maintenance of infrastructure. In addition, the new regulation contributes enormously to the acceleration of the energy transition, to the achievement of the set climate targets and thus to environmental and climate protection.
